Karli & Grant’s Fall wedding at Buck Shoals Cabins in Hamptonville, North Carolina

This is one of my favorite fall weddings, Karli’s parents own Buck Shoals Cabins wedding venue so it was so special to her to get married here. I have loved working with her family in the past so I knew this would be a fun wedding full of fun energy, love and beautiful details. It was a beautiful fall day with beautiful golden light and fall colors.

The day began with the couple getting ready in separate spaces at the venue surrounded by their parents and closest friends, the sound of the running river creates a relaxing and calming feeling that stands apart from other venues in the area.

One of my favorite moments was capturing the first touches, first looks and emotional exchanges with close family and friends. These captured moments are so important in bringing you back to the feeling of your wedding day.

A Ceremony Framed by Fall Foliage and a Peaceful River

The ceremony took place outdoors, under towering trees and the peaceful sounds of the surrounding flowing river.

Golden Hour Portraits in Peak Autumn Color

After the ceremony, we took advantage of golden hour for portraits around the venue. This is always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. The low, warm light paired with autumn colors creates images that feel timeless and cinematic.

We went down to the river and up to the open field , capturing both candid and softly posed portraits. The couple’s joy was beaming, Buck Shoals provided endless variety without ever feeling staged.

An Moody Reception with Seasonal Florals

The reception carried the fall theme through subtle, thoughtful details warm candlelight, textured linens, seasonal florals, and a color palette inspired by the surrounding landscape. As the sun set, the space transformed into a cozy, inviting atmosphere perfect for celebrating.

From heartfelt toasts to spontaneous dance floor moments, the reception was full of energy and emotion. These are the moments where storytelling photography really comes to life capturing laughter, movement, and genuine connection.

This wedding was a perfect example of how nature and love can come together seamlessly.
