Welcome, I'm Melody

I'm a christ following wedding photographer based in Charlotte NC. I'm a lover of slow mornings, the kind that unfold unhurried, with a good cup of coffee and maybe a fresh loaf of sourdough pulled warm from the oven. When I'm not behind my camera you can find me at home raising my two precious girls, adding yet another plant to my ever growing collection or curled up with a well worn book and nowhere else to be. I'm drawn to meaningful conversations over small talk, and traveling to places that make you feel wonderfully small in the best possible way. I've always believed that the best stories , weather they are written on a page or lived out in real life, are built from the same foundations: genuine connection, honesty, and laughter that comes easy. That belief shapes not just how I spend my days, but how I show up for every couple I photograph. My goal is to tell your love story the same way I try to live my own life: intentionally, joyfully, and with a deep appreciation for the quiet in between moments that so easliy get overlooked.

My approach is relaxed, unobtrusive, intentional, and rooted in connection. I believe your wedding day is about so much more than beautiful images. It's about the people you love, The commitment you're making, and the moments that unfold naturally in between. I'm drawn to the small, fleeting details, the way hands hold each other, the nervous laughter right before walking down the aisle, the long calm exhale after your vows have been made, Those are the moments that matter most and the ones I'll always chase. Behind the camera, I'll offer gentle direction when you need it, and step back to let things unfold naturally when you don't, always working to make you feel comfortable just being yourselves. There's no interest in stiff poses or forced moments here. What I want is simply you, the people you love most and a day that gets remembered exactly as it felt.

Weddings come and go in a single day, but the way it felt, the people who showed up for you, the quiet moments in between the big ones- that's what stays with you, those are the moments that write your story. Long after the flowers have wilted and the seating chart is a distant memory, these are the images your children and grandchildren will pull out to understand where they came from, to see what your love looked like in it's earliest and most unguarded form. That's the intention I carry into every wedding I photograph, not just capturing the day, but building heirlooms, something that gets passed down and handed to the next generation as proof of how it all began.
